Dorothy Hunter, age 89, former Grand Rapids Chicks Chaperone, died in her native Winnipeg, Canada, on August 17, 2005. Dottie played first base when the league began and became chaperone until the league folded in 1954. She leaves one cousin, many friends and players who adored her.
