Marjorie Lillian "Mackie" Peters, a resident of Racine, WI, found peace on Friday, April 1, 2016, at the age of 97 years. Beloved aunt of Chuck (Pam Zalec) Bacun, great-aunt of Darell (Judi) Olson and Bari (Chris) Svoboda, great-great-aunt of Vaughn Olson. Dear friend of Glen (Ruth) Siegmann, Judy Bacun and the late Jeanie Bishop. Preceded in death by her parents John and Lillian and siblings Dutch, Arnie, Dorothy and Margaret.
A lifelong athlete, truly in a league of her own, Mackie threw the first pitch in the All-American Girl's Professional Baseball League in 1943-1944. She was also a Champion speed skater. Mackie was a strong independent woman who lived a fulfilling life.
There will be a time of gathering on Tuesday, April 12, from 5:00 PM until the time of Memorial Service at 7:00 PM at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 7626 W. Greenfield Avenue, West Allis, WI. Private interment Wisconsin Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the All-American Girl's Professional Baseball League appreciated.
