Grace graduated from the Lynn Classical High School in 1949. She attended the Framingham State College and the Northeastern University.
In 1951,she tried out for the AAGPBL, was assigned to the Battlecreek Belles, but was injured and had to return home. She continued to play softball around New England. Playing in four World Tournaments. In 1969, she was inducted into the Massachustts Softball Hall of Fame, and remains one of only two women so honored. She was also a great basketball player, starring in the old Police Athletic League and Boston Park League. She even tried her hand at field hockey, she made the first team on Vermont's entry in the U.S. Field Hockey Association.
When Grace wasn't playing sports, she was coaching or refereeing. At one point, she coached six P.A.L. basketball teams at the same time. She also helped form the Lassie League at St. Pius V. Church.
In 1955, Grace began working for the City of Lynn (Massachusetts) as a clerk in the mayor's office. She became a purchasing agent in 1972.
In 1969, she was selected as Lynn Businesswoman of the year by the Business and Professional Women's Club, and was presented the NEAAU Paul Revere Bowl for participation and aid to amateur sports.
She was active in City Hall Employees Union Local 193 She served as President of the Massachusetts Association of Purchasing Agents in 1989 and 1990.
Grace was an outstanding softball player who made the New England Amateur Athletic Union All-Star team for five years. She was inducted into the Classical High School Hall of Fame in 1991. She was a coach and referee for the Lynn Police Athletic League..
She has "The Grace Rogato Field" in Lynn named for her. Also, there is a "Grace Rogato Award" given to the top girl athlete from the Lynn Middle School.
The day of her funeral the Mayor closed down the City Hall in her Honor.

Grace Rogato of Lynn, a purchasing agent for the city of Lynn, died Monday February 1,1993 at home after a lengthy illness. She was 60.
A lifelong Lynn resident, Miss Rogato graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1949. She attended Framingham State College and Northeastern University.
Miss Rogato began working for the city in 1955 as a clerk in the mayor’s office. She became a purchasing agent in 1972.
In 1969, she was selected as Lynn Businesswoman of the Year by the Business and Professional Women’s Club.

She is survived by her mother, Carmelia (Patrizzi); a brother, three sisters, several nieces and nephews, and several aunts and uncles and several cousins.
A funeral mass was celebrated at St. Pius Church, Lynn.
Arrangements were by Solimine and Rhodes Funeral Home, Lynn.
