Dorice Reid was a light, yet timely hitting center fielder for the Grand Rapids Chicks.  She made up for a low batting average by taking a good share of walks and running the bases well.  During the off-season, Reid attended classes at her hometown Superior State Teachers College.  Prior to the 1951 season, Reid moved to California.  She returned to California when the 1951 season ended and never returned to play in the AAGPBL.
