Racine Belles' President from 1944-1949, W. R. Wadewitz, also served as Vice President of Racine's Western Printing & Litho Company.  A veteran of World War I and former all-around athlete, he was a Vice President of the Racine Association of Commerce, Committee Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Racine, member of the Board of Trustees and Honorary Life Member of the Racine Elks, Chairman of the Racine Cemetery Commission, and very active in American Legion and civic affairs.
