Pauline J. (Oravets) Dick, mother of Ashtabula residents Edward and Cynthia, was a member of the Rockford Peaches when the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League was formed in the summer of 1943. She was a pitcher and a member of the Peaches starting rotation for the team's inaugural season.
Mrs. Dick spent the last few years of her life as a resident of the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
She passed away at age 80 on June 8, 1998. She was born January 4, 1918.
