Norma E. (Taylor) Luker, 73, Huntington, IN, died at 1:21 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2004 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.
Mrs. Luker was known as the “Cookie Baker” for Huntington College where she had baked for 13 years. She was a member of the Markle Church of the Brethren, Red Cross, and was active with the Pioneer Settlement making apple butter. Mrs. Luker was a member of the Women’s Professional Baseball League where she played for the Daisey Team in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Luker was born on March 30, 1931, in Huntington County, the daughter of Norman and Ellen (Platt) Taylor. Her first marriage was to Frank M. Hart in 1953 and he preceded her in death on January 2, 1969. She married Larry J. Luker and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Diana S. Hethcote of Huntington; one brother, John R. Taylor of Huntington; three sisters, Mary E. Brooks of Huntington, Charlotte (Paul) Pettigrew of Fort Wayne; and Alberta Thomas of Fort Wayne; four grandsons and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, September 30, 2004 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Glen Robinson officiating. Burial was in Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County.
