Merna "Toddy" Nearing passed away peacefully Friday, May 16, 2008, age 84. Preceded in death by her brothers Arthur, Ervin, and Arnold Wahlers and sister Velda Krull. Survived by nieces Gloria, Pat, Debbie: nephew Casey, other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including her dear lifetime friend Lois "Krueg" Krueger.
Visitation was Tuesday, May 20, 2008 10:00-11:45 AM at the Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Ave., Milwaukee, WI. The funeral service was at 12:00 PM. Private burial was held at Forest Cemetery in Birnamwood, Wisconsin. If desired, memorials to the Elmbrook Humane Society are appreciated. Toddy was a proud member of the Womens Professional Baseball League.
