Glenora R. Moss, 75, of Ledyard, NY died Tuesday, May 26, 1992 at Tompkins Community Hospital.  A native of Oregon Hill, PA., Mrs. Moss also lived in Corning, NY before moving to Ledyard in 1955. She was a 1935 graduate of Corning Free Academy. Her husband, William C., died in 1984.

In high school and after her graduation, Mrs. Moss played on several state championship softball and basketball teams. She was one of the first players drafted into the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League in 1943 and played first base for the 1939 New York State Softball Championship Athens Maids team from Corning.  She had a .564 batting average for the 13  state tournament games.

Mrs. Moss was a member of the Ledyard United Methodist Church. She was also a volunteer driver with the Red Cross during World War II.

Surviving are a son, a daughter; a sister, four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Shakelton Funeral Home, Aurora, the Rev. William P. Dobson officiating. Burial was at Ridgeway Cemetery, Venice, NY.  Contributions were solicited for Poplar Ridge Instant Aid or Ledyard United Methodist Church.
