After playing in the AAGPBL in 1944, Vickie switched to playing in Chicago's National Girls Baseball League, a professional league which played by softball rules. It was probably easier for Vickie to play in Chicago because her husband was overseas in the Canadian Air Force, she had a three-year old, and the traveling wasn't as extensive as in the AAGPBL. In the NGBL, Vickie played for the Bluebirds in 1945 and 1946.
Vickie was a great outfielder in both leagues, and she may have dropped out of playing professisonal ball after the war to be home in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada with her family.

We learned from Colin Johnston that Vicki Panos passed away in April 29, 1986 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Colin also mentioned the following: "I knew Vicki very well in later life. She was a real character . I remember her dancing at my 21st in 1984. . . . Lovely lady."
