Frankly, Redwing officials thought they had something in the way of "box office appeal" when they signed Dodie at spring training in Havana. "Here's a girl who's both good looking and a good ball player." When Dodie started slugging the baseball around the lot, she got her chance to play regulary with the Redwings and she became a fan favorite. her biggest thrill in the AAGPBL came the night she went to the plate five times and got five hits all off Connie Wisniewski of the GR Chicks.  We are sorry we cannot find the stats for Dolores for 1948.
