Betty came to the AAGPBL from the National Girls Baseball League in Chicago, which was a professional softball league.  She was a strong fielding third baseman and a steady hitter.  When she was traded to the Daisies, it gave Coach Allington the chance to use Katie Hortsman more as a pitcher.  Betty returned to the NGBL later and played for the Bluebirds from 1948 through 1952.
