Jimmy Hamilton served as vice-president and chief sout for the league during it's formative years.  He had an extensive baseball background as player, manager and administrator for several minor league teams.  At the time he joined the league he was serving as the Chicago Cubs chief scout.  He set up tryout camps throught the U.S and Canada and signed the league's first players.
