"I" Eilaine was the younger twin by 15 min. An infielder by trade, she saw a good share of the action in right field and as a pinch hitter.Eilaine was known for her bunting She and her sister both played for Peoria. During her off-seasons "I" did upholstering. She kept active by skating, bowling, dancing and playing basketball.
Eilaine May Roth, 82, of Springfield, MI, died November 1, 2011 at home. She was born January 17, 1929, the daughter of Herman and Elsie (Kumnatzke) Roth in Michigan City, IN.
Eilaine graduated from Elston Senior High School, Michigan City, IN and worked for Upjohn in Kalamazoo for more than 20 years.
She is survived by a brother, Harold (Alice) Roth of Michigan City, three nieces and one nephew. She was preceeded in death by her parents, twin sister, Elaine Roth, and sister, Althea Bancroft.
Eilaine enjoyed bingo and sports, especially baseball, as she was a professional baseball player with the All American Girls Professional Baseball League during their 1943-1954 seasons.
Per Eilaine's wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
