AAGPBL Board President, Richard “Rick” Chapman

AAGPBL Board President, Richard “Rick” Chapman is a native of Northen, Ohio with five siblings.  His mother was Dorothy “Mickey” Maguire Chapman who was an AAGPBL player from 1943 to 1949.  He had a good baseball career and was invited to a try-out with the Kansas City Royals in1970.  Injuries in 1971 forced him to retire from baseball.  He was a graduate of Madonna University, near Detroit.  After 33 years with General Motors (Detroit), He retired in 2005, and moved to Kansas City with His wife, Lisa, and daughter, Mickayla.  He has been an Associate member of the Players Association since its inception and is currently the President of the Players Association.  He invites folks t stoop by to visit him at the Kansas City Athletics’ Team Store in Kauffman Stadium where he works many of the home games.
