GIRLS BASEBALL CLINIC - FIRST EVER-May 30, 2009, Mann Park, located at 2924 E. 131st St. in Chicago.

FIRST-EVER girls baseball clinic offered through the GoGirlGo! Chicago office of the Women's Sports Foundation in Chicago. Former players from the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League are cordially invited to be a part of a FIRST-EVER girls baseball clinic.

The clinic takes place from 10 am to noon (CST) on Saturday, May 30 at Mann Park in Chicago. The clinic is for young women ages 8-18 and will be administered by players from the Chicago Women's Baseball League and South Bend Blue Sox. Former AAGPBL players will have an opportunity to meet these young women and to share their baseball memories and their role in baseball history! This event marks the end of Chicago Mayor Richard Daley's GoGirlGo! Week in Chicago! Some 125 young women are expected to attend this event.

This clinic was designed to be a model for future girls baseball clinics at other GoGirlGo! offices in the United States. For participants and special guests, there will be a box lunch served at noon following the completion of the clinic. In the event of rain, Mann Park does offer a fieldhouse which will be used for the activities that day.

If you are interested in being a part of this event, please RSVP by contacting John Kovach at Knucksie1@aol.com or by phone at 574-309-3360.

Many thanks to the Women's Sports Foundation of Chicago and John Kovach for their this monumental event and their support of Women in Baseball.
