Dora Trois Wood, 80, died at 7:56 p.m. Sept. 9, 2008, at St. Rita's Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 5, 1928, in Gilboa to Alvin and Lula Lowden Wood, who preceded her in death.

Miss Wood retired as a physical education and health teacher from Central and North Junior high schools in Lima. She played professional baseball for the Fort Wayne Daisies in the 1950s, won the Lima City Women's Golf Championship six times, and was a champion bowler. She was a graduate of Gilboa High School and Bowling Green State University.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Private graveside services were held in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa.
