Schick, Yolande Teillet (9/28/1927 - 1/26/2006)

Yolande Teillet Schick was the Baseball player/Granddaughter of Joseph Riel, the younger brother of Louis Riel.  She was born in St. Vital, Manitoba on 28 September 1927. While playing the position of catcher for the St. Vital Tigerettes, she was recruited for the Fort Wayne Daisies of the All-American Girls Baseball League. As such, she was one of the first Métis players to play in that league. She is a member of the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame, the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame, and her name appears in the US National Baseball Hall of Fame. She died on 26 January 2006.
