Emil Pietrangeli, 95, of Kenosha passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at St. Catherines Medical Campus in Pleasant Prairie.
Born in Kenosha, Sept. 10, 1917, the son of the late Frederick and Rosalie (DiMario) Pietrangeli. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he attended local schools and the University of IL at Champaign-Urbana.
On March 19, 1939, he married Mary H. Bellaver at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
He had been employed by the American Brass, American Motors as an Expeditor in the Planning Dept. retiring April 1, 1983. He also worked for many construction companies in the Kenosha area.
A member of St. James Catholic Church, Financial Secretary for local #237, AMC, he was an Umpire for the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, and a member of the Old Timers Baseball Club.
Surviving are his wife Mary of 73 years; a daughter, Joan (Robert) Pagnini of Cleveland, OH; his daughter-in-law; Diana Pietrangeli of Yorkville, Ill.; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, five great grandchild and eight step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Neil Jon Pietrangeli; three sisters, Angelina, Giggini and Neilina and one brother Gene.
Funeral services [were] held on Saturday, Oct. 6, at 9:30 a.m. from Proko Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial [was] held at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Interment [followed] at St. James Cemetery. Visitation [was] held on Friday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Proko Funeral Home.
