Moss, Glenora R. (7/26/1916 – 5/26/1992)

Glenora R. Moss, 75, of Ledyard died Tuesday at Tompkins Community Hospital.A native of Oregon Hill, PA., Mrs. Moss also lived in Corning before moving to Ledyard in 1955. She was a 1935 graduate of Corning Free Academy. Her husband, William C., died in 1984.

In high school and after her graduation, Mrs. Moss played on several state championship softball and basketball teams. She was one of the first players drafted into the All-American Girls Professional Softball League and played on the Athens Maids.

Mrs. Moss was a member of the Ledyard United Methodist Church. She was a volunteer driver with the Red Cross during World War II.

Surviving are a son, a daughter; a sister, four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shakelton Funeral Home, Aurora, the Rev. William P. Dobson officiating. Burial was at Ridgeway Cemetery, Venice.Calling hours were 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Shakelton Funeral Home.Contributions may be made to Poplar Ridge Instant Aid or Ledyard United Methodist Church.
